Bicaz Gorges area with a length of 6 km from the Red Lake upstream to downstream Bicaz Ardelean village is crossed by the road linking the towns of Transcarpathian DN12C Gheorgheni and Bicaz. Gorges included Bicaz Gorges – Hăşmaş and do part of the nature reserve Bicaz Gorges – Red Lake. The lake “Mountain Spring” (35km length over an area of 33 km2), also known as the “Lake Bicaz“. It is the largest artificial lake (anthropogenic) arranged on the interior rivers in Romania, located on the upper Bistrita River. The lake was formed by the construction of hydroelectric dam – Bicaz.  Bicaz tourist harbor, where boats leave for recreational rides, tourist stops in the area and near Spring Mountain (797 m alt.) Ceahlau -Neamţ County is located within easy reach of the city and Lake Bicaz Spring Mountain. Its summit is considered the highest peak Great Ocolasul , 1907 m, peak Toaca measuring only 1900 m. Ceahlău was considered by the Dacians, as the abode of the god Zalmoxis. Ceahlau ancestor’s name for Pion (Peon), which comes from the Greek word, translated means “pole house”. Today Ceahlau is considered as the second holy mountain of Orthodox Christianity after Mount Athos. Area Ceahlau-Durau is situated 6 km from Lake Spring Mountain, in the foothills Ceahlau at altitude of 780-800m on the northwest slope of the mountain Ceahlau. Natural tourism potential Ceahlau determined arrangement of paths and resting places since the last century. The Cantacuzino family arranged around the first path to the heights Ceahlău 1860 and the first shelters are built in 1906 near Cold Fountain  – Fântânele 1914. Putna Monastery –

is the first and most important foundation of the Stephen the Great and the Holy One, over five centuries watches the legendary land of Bucovina. Chronicler I. Neculce thus tells how the place where the Putna Monastery was to be built was:  “Stefan-Voivod the Good, when they started to make the Putna Monastery, fired with a bow from a mountain peak which is near the monastery. Sucevita Monastery –

 Founders – Movileşti family, This family of boyars has a special place in the history of our country, from which a metropolitan and two rulers are emerging.  The founder of Sucevita monastery finds out from various documents, is due to Gheorghe Movila, who has devoted himself to the monastic life. The period of the monks’ monks was organized around a wooden church, built at the beginning of the 14th century, and today the place is remembered by a cross (on the site of the Holy Altar) on Mount Furcoi in front of the current monastery. It was also perpetuated the celebration of her patronage – The Lord’s Changing of the Lord (August 6) – as a monument to the Suceviţa Monastery (although the large church on the premises is dedicated to the Resurrection of the Lord).

Moldovita Monastery  –

Surrounded by the forested mountains of Bucovina, the monastery Moldovita is celebrated with the Good Annunciation. The first stone church was built under the reign of Alexander the Good between 1402-1410, with a whole building complex.

Humor Monastery –

What impresses and especially attracts admiration is his external frescoes. The main iconographic themes are: The Acatist of the Annunciation (Southern Facade), The Tree of Jesse (Northern Facade), The Last Judgment (Western Facade), comprising a procession of holy angels, prophets, apostles, hierarchs, martyrs and gods

Voronet Monastery –

Founded by Stefan cel Mare (1488), the building is famous for the “blue of Voronet” – considered by the world’s only specialists and known as Rubens’ red or Veronese’s green.
