Peles Castle – SINAIA, winter residence of Romanian royal family ,Cantacuzino Palace – BUSTENI ( optional) . From both mountain resorts, you can climb the mountains by cable car to – the Bucegi mountain plateau. On the Plateau Bucegi can visit: Sphinx and Babele- geomorphological formations, in 1.1/2 hour mountain trail get Cross of heroes -monument entered in the book of world records . Legend says that this monument was made following a dream that Queen Mary of Romania , had. Mt. Bucegi , represented by Caraiman peak were splattered with Romanian blood in the First World War. For the construction of the monument was chosen Caraiman secondary peak (2291 m), because if the monument would be built on the main peak (2325 m), Cross would’t have been visible, only nearby the mountain plateau. The whole project was conducted by Romanian architects George Cristinel and Constantin Procopiu. Construction of the monument began in 1926 and ended in August 1928. The Queen Mary has followed closely the implementation until its completion. The inauguration and dedication of the monument took place on September 14, 1928 the Holy Cross Day.
I don’t recommend visiting during the weekend. Very crowded, wasted time, believe me.
Of course, for music lovers visit of Memorial House G.Enescu from Cumpatu- Sinaia.
Bran Castle – Brasov county, after that in 40 min. we get there .
As well can be visited Rasnov – peasant fortress .
