So many astonishing beautiful churches and monasteries you could find in Bucovina – Romania, with inside or outside original wall pictures. Since 1993 they have been listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Site. You can hardly find a similar place in the world, with a so high quality vivid frescoes group of churches. They were built approximately between 1487 and 1583 as funeral places for the Royal Family, prince, princess and nobles. Although each painter strictly observed that period manner of artistic representation of the religious scenes, they put at work their genius and created something unique. Thus, you could see the famous blue of Voronet, green-red of Sucevita, yellow of Moldovita etc. The artist painted the biblical stories from Earth and Heaven, from the Holly Lives of the Virgin and Jesus Christ and the Apostles. Wooden Churches from Maramures (4 – 7 days)

Wooden churches are related to the artistic unicity of Maramures area. The locals are passionate by wooden sculpture which is done with skill and creativity. These churches are built in the 17th and 18th centuries, without iron nails, and many of them with impressive height – e.g you could find here the highest wood (oak) building in the world – Surdesti Church, 72 m (236 ft). The interior is painted with biblical scenes from The Old Testament and The New Testament and the image-case bears the inscription of the year 1783, during the reign of Joseph II – the emperor, as well as the name of the author, “painter Stefan”. Some of these churches have been listed by UNESCO, in 1999, as World Heritage Site for their wooden religious architecture (aprox. 1500 km ), these are : Barsana, Budesti, Desesti, Ieud, Plopis, Poienile Izei, Rogoz, Surdesti .
